Strength is in Unity!

The Socialist Union of Transcaucasia is a special union between the governments of Georgia, Armenia-Nakhchivan and Azerbaijan. Although each country still retains sovereignty, the Union functions as a single political entity. Although the Union may have a Socialist government, there are many differences between Transcaucasian Socialism and Soviet Socialism.

Socialist Republic of Georgia

The Socialist Republic of Georgia is a sparsely-populated nation with only 5,329,000 residents. Its unitary one-party government is led by President Giorgi Serchenko of the Socialist Party. Georgia's main and official religion is Orthodox Christianity, with about 96% of the population being a member of the Georgian Orthodox Church.

The Georgian economy is strong, powered by the country's large exports of their world-famous Georgian wine. Tourism is a growing industry as well, due to Georgia's many historic sites and breathtaking experiences atop the Caucasus mountains. Shipping and shipbuilding alike are growing industries, since Georgia hopes to establish its power in the Black Sea.

Georgia is a mountainous nation, its border with the USSR is formed by a natural border of mountains. On a physical map, there is hardly anywhere in Georgia with land colored green, representing low height. Georgia, however, has a number of beach resorts along the coast of Ajaria. Georgia's only coastline is on the west, towards the Black Sea. A number of ports are located along the coast, since the Black Sea is an politically, militarily and economically important maritime location.

Democratic Republic of Armenia-Nakhchivan

The Democratic Republic of Armenia-Nakhchivan is a densely-populated nation. With a population of 14,194,000, it constitutes more than half of the Union's population. Its unitary one-party government is led by Premier Artur Sarzhyan, General Secretary of the Armenian People's Party. Like Georgia, Armenia's main and official religion is Orthodox Christianity. Armenia was the first country to recognize Christianity as its official religion in 300AD, with the Armenian Apostolic Church's membership at around 13,179,000.

The Armenian economy is fair, slightly weaker than the economies of fellow Georgia and Azerbaijan. It is powered mainly by industry, arms manufacturing and mining, with minerals constituting more than half the economy. Armenia is a relatively poor nation based on the current standards. It has one of the lowest GDPs in the world due to the small economy and large population. However, life is not hard and the Armenians are able to sustain themselves. A majority of the military equipment used by the Union are produced here.

Like fellow Georgia, Armenia is a mountainous nation. Unfortunately the country does not have a coast, as it is located within the heart of the Caucasus. Its average elevation is slightly higher than Georgia.

Republic of Azerbaijan

The Republic of Azerbaijan is the second most populated nation in the Union, at 12,302,000. Its unitary multi-party government is led by President Sabir Aliyev of the Azerbaijani Labor Party, the ruling party. Azerbaijan is a secular state, with the dominant religion being Islam at 92.8%. 87% of Muslims in Azerbaijan are Shia Muslims, while the remaining 13% are Sunni. Other religions include Armenian and Georgian Orthodox Christianity.

The Azerbaijani economy is very strong. Tourism forms a major part of the economy, while energy is equally as large because of the country's many oil and gas wells along the coast. A growing industry in Azerbaijan is shipbuilding.

Unlike Georgia and Armenia, Azerbaijan's elevation is much lower. Azerbaijan has a coast, facing the landlocked Caspian Sea. Along the coast lie a number of oil and natural gas reserves, granting Azerbaijan prosperity. Azerbaijan is also home to more than half of the world's mud volcanoes, with an estimated 400 of them.

Foreign Relations

The Socialist Union of Transcaucasia wishes to maintain healthy foreign relations, although the Socialist ideology is equally loved and hated. We do not wish to be labeled as an authoritarian union.

Our Allies are the source of aid to our small Union. Without them, we would have nothing.

Trade Pacts

Countries who have established Trade Pacts with us are equally as important as Allies. Trade Pacts allow us to share our technology with others, at the same time purchasing some for our own use. The word "trade" is important in the name.

Non-Agression Pacts

Non-Agression Pacts are signs of peace, for countries not allied with the Union but not seen as enemies. Shame on he who dares violate one.

These are the filthy pigs who have ended up on the wrong side of the Union. Much like the many de-facto nations in the Transcaucasian region before, you will become a part of our territory!

United Transcaucasian Armed Forces

The member states of the Union have decided to join forces and operate as one united force. Each nation has its own strengths and weaknesses, but together each strength is put to good use and each weakness is taken away.

United Transcaucasian Navy

Most of the Navy's strength is surprisingly supplied by Azerbaijan, formerly a country with only the landlocked Caspian Sea to govern. However, Azerbaijan still took the initiative and developed a small shipbuilding industry which eventually grew, and became the strongest in the region. Most ships are sent across the Transcaucasian Canal to join the Black Sea Fleet.
